Then, head to the San Pedro market, where you will have the chance to discover regional tastes and products, and immerse yourself in the local traditions. From here, your guide will lead you to the grand Koricancha Temple. Its name means “Gold Enclosure” in Quechua, as its walls were formerly covered in gold plaques. Then, on to the Santo Domingo Church, where you can revel in its grand architecture and astonishing display of art from the Cusqueña School. Continue on towards the San Blas neighborhood, known for housing artists and artisans over the decades. As you make your way, you will pass through Hatun Rumiyoc Street, stop at the Inca Roca Palace – currently the home of the Archbishop – and see at the famous Twelve Angle Stone. The tour concludes in the Main Plaza, where you will visit the Cathedral and see its beautiful and historically valuable colonial masterpieces.  Overnight stay in Cusco.

After a hearty breakfast, head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where your biking adventure awaits. Upon arriving at the Paucarbamba Bridge, you will be led in a safety briefing and subsequently geared up. From here, ride along the Urubamba River towards the village of Pachar. In Pachar, you begin your descent down an ancient Inca trail, into the vast fields and across Inca terraces until arriving at the Inca Bridge, where the tour ends. Overnight stay in the Sacred Valley.

Today you return to the town of Pachar for a river rafting experience down the Urubamba River. After a quick, but thorough safety briefing, your guide will fully equip you and lead you to the calm waters for a practice session. Once you feel comfortable, head down river and admire the spectacular views of surrounding mountains and archaeological ruins, as the waters begin to pick up, eventually taking you through level II and III rapids. The experience finishes with a thrilling trip through El Resbaladero (The Slide), a strong class III rapid with waves and small whirlpools. After getting back on dry land, your guide will lead you to a traditional restaurant on the riverside, owned by a local family, for lunch. This is the perfect place to enjoy classic Andean cuisine, while simultaneously supporting community projects. From here, explore the nearby archaeological site, before taking off on a horseback riding adventure along the riverside. As you journey, make sure to look around at the small villages, farms, and Andean terraces along the way, and take in the regional feel.
