A list of movies that have been filmed in Peru
Peru’s diverse geography has provided ideal settings for an assortment of regionally successful films. The following list is our selection of the best feature films classified by region. The northern coast (Cabo Blanco and Mancora), the desert bay of Ica (Paracas), and the deep green jungle of San Martin are only some of the locations chosen by the directors of these films. Fitzcarraldo – directed by Werner Herzog – was filmed in Iquitos, and is the most internationally successful movie filmed in Peru. Its cast includes rock legend Mick Jagger.
