The city of Caral is recognized by tripadvisor as The Best Cultural Destination
TripAdvisor, the most important and influential travel website in the world, has recognized the Sacred City of Caral as the Best Cultural and Archeological Destination, and has bestowed the historic site with a “2018 Certification of Excellence”, which is based on consistent high scores granted by TripAdvisor users. The important award is given from this virtual platform to touristic sites, archeological areas, restaurants, and hotels that consistently receive positive comments from clients.
“This recognition moves us to maintain and continue to improve our services, so that each visitor can journey into our past, and then take the wonderful experience of visiting a millenary city like Caral – with its 5000 years of age – home with them,” stated doctor Ruth Shady, Director of the Caral Archeological Site and facilitator of Peru’s Ministry of Culture.
The Sacred City of Caral sees around 70 thousand visitors each year, which include students, youths, and adults from different parts of the country, as well as foreign visitors.
The archeological site is open to the public all year round, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. One of the ways visitors can learn about the urban centers of the Caral civilization is by participating in a cultural broadcasting program called “Educational Travels,” organized by the Caral Archeological Site.
