Peruvian Ceviche makes it into the Guinness Book of World Records

Ceviche, Peru’s national dish, has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records after 1,000 cabin boys, navy officers, and technicians from the Institute of Superior Public Naval Technological Education (CITEN) simultaneously ate three cebiche varieties prepared with three different types of fish.

This was done with the intention of putting cebiche into the global limelight, and supporting the Peruvian Government’s proposal for UNESCO to declare the beloved dish an Intangible Cultural Heritage. This feat was made possible by the strategic alliance between the Universidad San Ignacio del Loyola (USIL), Peru’s Naval Corps, and the CMO Group.
