Peru’s excellence within the tourism sector is celebrated once again by the World Travel Awards (WTA) in their latest South American edition, with 47 nominations across the board - from businesses, to attractions, and entities, all within Peru.
In the 26th edition of the South American WTA, Peru competes to win the award for best destination in the adventure, nature, cultural, gastronomic, beach, whale watching, business, cruise, and city categories, as well as the best destination in general, among other categories.
In addition, PROMPERÚ will be defending its title as the Best Tourism Office in South America, an award it has graciously received the previous three years in a row.
The winners are chosen via votes submitted on the World Travel Award website. Votes are accepted from the 25th of March, until the 24th of May. The award ceremony – during which the winners are revealed - will take place on the 13th of July, in La Paz (Bolivia).
The private Peruvian sector is competing in diverse categories, which include: the best boutique cruise service and the best private jet service. The hotel sector has also received various nominations, such as: best hotel, best airport hotel, best new hotel, best luxury boutique hotel, best resort, and best romantic resort – among others.
Lastly, Peruvian tour operators and train companies are also nominated as South America’s best train service providers for tourists.
