Kuelap is among the coolest places to travel through The Wall Street Journal
Kuelap, the archaeological site located in the province of Luya, was chosen as the third most recommended destination to visit in 2018, in a list of 10 destinations created by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
Kuelap, belonging to the Chachapoyas pre-Inca culture, is the only attraction in South America that is included in the ranking you should know next year. This destination was only surpassed by the Faroe Islands and the city of Puebla in Mexico, which took the first and second place.
Kuélap, often called “the second Machu Picchu”, and its great attraction lies in its narrow alleys, zigzag-shaped friezes and rhombuses, and its walls with more than 20 meters high.
The cost of entry to the fortress of Kuelap for domestic and foreign tourists is S / 20 and with a student card costs only S / 10.
