Domestic and foreign tourists will no longer provide customs declaration
The National Superintendence of Tax Administration (Sunat) reported that domestic and foreign tourists entering the country by air should no longer present the customs declaration. This provision is established under a campaign called “Welcome to Peru”. This measure will benefit more than three million people who travel each year and come to Peru.
The administration specified that only citizens transporting goods must present a declaration and pay taxes. Sunat is going to apply this amendment in customs declaration at Jorge Chávez Airport, since it is the airport that receives the highest volume of travelers in the country. Next year, it will be implemented throughout the country .
